Bring the World Cup home

Dear Royal Bunker,

Defeating hundreds of players in a poker tournament is a special feeling. Claiming your share of $280,000 in prize money is exhilarating. Holding the title of PokerStars World Cup of Poker (WCP) Champion is an experience which goes beyond words! You have the chance to experience this feeling as the WCP returns for its fifth run. A total of 54 countries will soon begin the quest for international glory and you could be a part of your national team!

Qualify To Represent Your Country For FREE!
Each country will have two Freeroll Tournament Qualifiers. The final table finishers from each of these qualifiers will play in an 18-player final event. Both the winner and runner-up of this final will be offered a place on their country’s team. All regional and national team qualifiers are completely free to enter, and will be restricted to 15,000 players, so register early to guarantee your place.

The team will also include the top two Tournament Leader Board (TLB) players (from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007) for each of the 54 countries. The top ranked TLB player will have the option of becoming their team’s Captain.

Team Score Round
Once each country’s four-player squads are assembled, teams are placed in a qualifying group containing other national teams, which they will compete with to advance to the next level. “Team Score Rounds” are used to determine a winner from each group.

A “Team Score Round” consists of a set of scheduled tournaments that each contains one player from every team in the group. Teams score points are based on the finishing position of each team member in their tourney. The team’s total score is the sum of all its members’ scores, with the team scoring the most points declared the winner of the Team Score Round. The highest total scoring team in each group will advance to the next stage – The Live Event!

The Live Event
Only the most skilled teams will survive the Team Score Round and advance to the final stage. Those who prove themselves worthy will win packages - including travel expenses and accommodation - to play the WCP live final during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in the Bahamas in January!

PokerStars Caribbean Adventure
Don’t forget, our PCA qualifiers also give you the opportunity to reach the Bahamas for the PCA EPT Main Event. Cash and FPP qualifiers are available in a range of buy-ins, and Steps Sit & Go satellites are running 24/7 from as little as $7.50 or 500 FPPs. To register for a PCA qualifier, go to the Events > PCA tab in the PokerStars game lobby.

In 2007, Team USA triumphed and brought the World Cup of Poker Champion title to North America for the first time. Will it be your country this year? To learn more about the World Cup of Poker, including FAQ, rules, qualifying paths and more, visit the World Cup of Poker page.
