LAPT Second Season On The Way
2008 October, 10

PokerStars.net has announced they’ll be bringing back the Latin America Poker Tour for another successful season beginning this November 3rd, in San Jose, Costa Rica. Last season’s LAPT brought exciting high stakes poker tournament action all over Central and South America and this season looks to be even bigger.

Attesting to their success, buy-ins for the LAPT main events have gone up. Each LAPT tournament will now be $3,500 +200 to enter, excluding the LAPT Championship which is set at $5,000 +200. Along with the bigger buy-ins, this season’s LAPT will also feature double the events of last year, with six total events in such locations as Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina.

The November 3rd, Costa Rica event is expected to attract big numbers and top pros. Season 1 in Costa Rica saw pros like Daniel Negreanu, Humberto Brenes, Andre Akkari, and Isabelle Mercier play for a $274,103 first prize, and with this year’s bigger buy-ins, people should expect even more top names to show up for the battle.

As usual, PokerStars will be running satellites for all the Season 2 LAPT events, which means a big buy-in tournament in an exotic location, may just be one lucky day away.
