Good News Bad News for Alvarado
J.C. Alvarado has to be happy with the cards he's getting today. So far, he's managed to connect with both quads and a straight flush. The problem? He can't get paid off. "I've gotten action on both hands, and I'm still at my starting stack," Alvarado said. "How good am I?"

Fuller's Shuts Out Velador
When Thomas Fuller bet 2,300 on a flop of AQ7, Jose Velador thought the time was right to push him out of the pot. He was wrong. When Velador shoved with ace-9, Fuller quickly called with pocket queens and his set held up as the board bricked out for Velador.
